San
José Airport Teams with Fairmont San Jose to Provide Airline Flight
Schedules for Travelers
Hotel installs real-time flight information
display in lobby
San José, CA – Guests and travelers at the
Fairmont Hotel in downtown San José now can see real-time airline
flight information displayed in the hotel’s lobby as a result of
an innovative partnership with Mineta San José International Airport
(SJC).
The hotel has installed two, high-resolution, 50-inch panels in the registration
area that now display arrivals, departures, gates, and status information
for all flights at SJC through a connection with airport’s information
technology system. With accurate and current updates to airlines’
flight data at the hotel, guests can readily verify their flights prior
to departing for the Airport.
“By
working together with the airport, we’re able to give our guests
better service and greater confidence about their travel plans, and this
contributes to a more enjoyable experience in San Jose,” said Cyril
Isnard, general manager of the Fairmont San José.
The Fairmont
San Jose is the first to receive the flight information displays, and
the airport is looking to expand the amenity to additional hospitality
locations. The hotel purchased the two wall-mounted monitors for display
that are similar to those used at airline terminals, and it pays a monthly
service charge to the Airport.
“We’re very interested in pursuing innovations and technology
in partnership with local hotels and convention centers to help our travelers,”
said Vicki Day, SJC director of customer services. “By providing
the most accurate information possible to our travelers, they can deal
with any schedule changes before they leave for the airport.”
